Question Who makes DOTS design products?
Answer

All our lamps and decorative objects are designed and handmade by DOTS design founder in Geneva, Switzerland. Each piece is carefully crafted, finished, and packaged by hand, ensuring unique quality and character.

Question Where can I see your products in person?
Answer

Our lamps and objects are available in selected boutiques in Switzerland, France, and beyond, as well as at seasonal markets and fairs. You can find an updated list of shops on our Where page.

Orders and Payments

Question How can I place an order?
Answer

You can order directly via our online shop at dotsdesign.ch or by visiting one of our partner stores.

Question What payment methods do you accept?
Answer

We accept major credit and debit cards, Klarna and soon Twint (for Switzerland). All transactions are secured with SSL encryption.

Question Can I modify an order after placing it?
Answer

If your order has not yet been shipped, please contact us immediately at hello@dotsdesign.ch. Once shipped, changes or cancellations are no longer possible.

Shipping and Delivery

Question Do you ship internationally?
Answer

Yes! We ship worldwide, and offer free shipping above a certain amount.

Question How long does delivery take?
Answer

 

  • Switzerland: 2–4 business days

  • EU countries: 5–8 business days

  • International: 7–14 business days (depending on customs clearance)

Since each product is handmade and built by me alone, production and shipping may sometimes take a little longer depending on workload. If you need a piece by a specific date (e.g., a gift), please contact me before ordering so I can confirm timing.

Question Will I have to pay customs duties or VAT?
Answer

Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs duties, VAT, or import taxes in your country. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

Question How can I track my order?
Answer

Once shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number by email. You can follow your package via the courier’s website.

Question Do your lamps come with bulbs included?
Answer

Yes, each lamp comes with a standard LED bulb suitable for your region’s voltage. You can also replace it with a specific G45 E27 compatible LED bulb (3W for Small lamps and 5W for Medium lamps, it is important to follow the specified wattage for thermal regulation).

Question Are all lamps identical?
Answer

Yes and no, each lamp is handmade, meaning very small variations in texture, finish, or color may occur. This is part of their uniqueness.

Care and Maintenance

Question How do I clean my DOTS design lamp?
Answer

Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaners.

Question How should I handle and care for my DOTS design lamp?
Answer

To keep your lamp looking beautiful and functioning perfectly, please handle it with care:

  • Avoid placing the lamp in direct sunlight for long periods to prevent fading or heat damage.
  • Do not drop or knock the lamp the materials are durable but handcrafted, and impacts can cause damage.
  • Always lift and move the lamp with both hands, supporting its base and body.
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaners.
  • For rechargeable lamp (e.g Myria and Miniatures), it is important to regularly charge the lamps to avoid complete battery discharge which might damage it.

With proper care, your DOTS lamp will remain a unique and beautiful piece.

Question Are the materials sustainable?
Answer

We prioritize eco-friendly materials, small-batch production, and recyclable packaging. Our lamps are designed for long life and minimal environmental impact.

Returns and Exchanges

Question Can I return or exchange a product?
Answer

Each product is made to order, and we can not accept unwanted or unwarranted returns.

Question Who pays for return shipping?
Answer

Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility, except in cases of defective or damaged items.

Question What if my order arrives damaged?
Answer

Please email us within 48 hours with photos of the damage at hello@dotsdesign.ch. We’ll arrange a replacement.

Question Do you sell to shops or galleries?
